LAUFSCHRIFT (Pariser Alphabet)

Pencil and red paint on wall, 450 x 60 cm

The wall text records a coincidental meeting in a café in Rue Oberkampf, Paris on May 12th. May 12th corresponds to the letter 'L' in the PARIS ALPHABET. PARIS ALPHABET is part of LAUFSCHRIFT– a record of daily walks taken in different cities where Bignia Wehrli has lived. The 26 walks are transformed into ideograms which form the letters of a new, site-specific alphabet.
